...but I did get something done this weekend.
And already, I have an excellent reason why I should have been keeping a sewing journal earlier - I just made the precise same mistake on a pattern that I made last time I made it up. I'm making up Butterick 3315, in particular the outfit in the photo, in this adorable skull-and-crossbones polar fleece I found -

That's the front panel - you can't really see it (must get better camera...) but I've put the zip in. Which is kinda my point - I've made this bunting once already, for Miss Morgana, and when I made it for her, I decided a chunky zip would be more in keeping with the style, and I'd just cope with adding a new backstop. It was a pain in the ass, and it didn't work that well. Guess what I thought when I was shopping for the bits and pieces for this one? "I'll get a chunky zip, even though they only come in open versions, not closed, because chunky is just more piratical." Gah. I'm an idiot. Still, at least it's started, even if I did spend FAR too long fighting with the zip.

The other thing on my sewing table is this glorious scarf that the lovely Sally gave me:

It's not really my style to wear as it is - but it's gorgeous fabric. Hopefully, Sally (Hi! *waves*) won't mind too much if I make something pretty to wear out of it. I'm just not sure what, yet... A corset could be pretty, but maybe too obvious. Not sure yet. It may just end up in the stash, or artistically draped over the corner of one of my mirrors!

No, thats pretty much what I thought you would do! I think a corset is a good idea - it sure cries out to be made into something yummy whatever you end up deciding on.

Scarves like that are lovely -- __if__ you have lots of occasion to drape silks over your bare shoulders and above gowns made of something equally glamorous! Sadly, we only do that once a fortnight or so!!! ;)

Well, that's good. I'd assumed, then realised I was assuming and got paranoid that you might be horrified that I'd chopped your glorious scarf into pieces! ^^;

I'm thinking maybe a less-standard corset - either a elizabethan/victorian fusion style, or I've seen some amazing 'tails' corsets that I'd love to try to imitate...

I did! Kira was very loud though, apparently determined to disrupt the chances of anyone trying to beat her Mama at the Wii dancing mini-game thing. XD

When are they heading to Canadia? Can't be long now.

It's more like a rhythm drumming game actually, but your little bunny dances when you move your Wiimote and Nunchuk to the right beats.

There's a game coming out for the Wii called Boogie which is a Karaoke game with dancing. Not sure what it will be like, but it does come with wireless Mic.

ooh. You've just made me realise I have to go drape it next to a skirt I already own that might be a very similar colour... *plots*
